There and Back Again:
Music from the Middle Ages to Our Own Time
A program of music spanning four centuries. Played on Renaissance and Baroque recorders of all sizes, this concert showcases the rich variety of the recorder repertoire, including compositions by Ciconia, Casulana, Palestrina, Buxtehude, J.S. Bach, and including contemporary composers Frances Blaker and Kai Stensgaard, among others.
The renowned West Coast-based Farallon Recorder Quartet brings the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Modern Eras to today’s audiences with professional polish, verve, and precision. They employ a fascinating range of recorder sizes and period styles.
