A la Mode

A Workshop with Nota Bene & Mark Rimple

Saint George’s Episcopal Church
915 N. Oakland | Arlington, VA
9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Stretch your understanding, interpretation, and enjoyment of European Renaissance polyphony by learning how musicians used the modes to express meaning. Play music written in a variety of modes to feel the differences for yourself and explore how a deeper sense of the composer’s universe can help you play more expressively.

This is a workshop for upper intermediate and advanced gambists and lutenists. Music will be provided before the workshop. Pitch A=440.
